Apple, on February 2, 2010 released an iPhone Software update for iPhone and iPod touch users. The new iPhone 3.1.3 firmware that Apple released fixes bugs and various issues that were present in the previous 3.1.2 firmware.
If you're not sure what bugs I'm referring to, here they are:
- Fixes bug in Japanese keyboard that caused applications to crash
- Fixes bug that caused third party applications to crash
- Fixes battery bug for iPhone 3GS users
As you can see, there are no new features. To ensure the stability of your device, you must update to this new firmware if you are an iPhone or iPod touch user. Of course, you will need to download iTunes and then iTunes will automatically detect that you are using an older firmware and prompt you to update to the latest version. If you aren't able to download iPhone 3.1.3 firmware through iTunes, you can do so by downloading iPhone userbar (works in Firefox, Safari, and Internet Explorer).
Here are the names of the files, and the size:

- iPhone 3G 3.1.3 download (iPhone1,2_3.1.3_7E18_Restore.ipsw, 242 MB)
